Are you looking for a way to give purpose to your child’s love for video games? The YMCA Esports Program offers curriculum-based learning, while also being engaging and fun for kids who are passionate about video games. Using Nintendo Switches and popular Nintendo games, such as Super Smash Bros, players meet in-person to learn valuable teamwork and communication skills, while also improving their gaming strategies.
(Owning a Nintendo Switch is not necessary for this program. We have loaners you can use during the class.)
Practice begins June 19th and continues every Monday. The junior division (ages 6-9) will be 4:00-5:15 pm, the 10-14 age division will be 5:30-7:00 pm at the Sacramento Central YMCA. The program ends on August 14th.

Bear Valley YMCA Camp has been a destination for summer adventure for more than 80 years. At Bear Valley, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the wonders of the High Sierra in a safe and caring environment.
Located near Emigrant Gap, Bear Valley provides kids with rewarding and life changing experiences. There are camping opportunities for ages 8-13 (Traditional Camp), ages 14-16 (Counselor in Training), and all ages (Family Camp).
Plus! New this year: Volunteer Junior Counselors
Too old to be a CIT? Too young to be a Counselor? 17 year olds can volunteer at camp during the 2023 summer season as "Junior Counselors''!
Youth Basketball leagues are offered for children PreK (age 4) to entering 7th grade. Children will learn the fundamentals of the sport (e.g., ball handling, shooting, passing, defense) and engage in competition with local teams in a fun and supportive environment that emphasizes character development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship!
Practices start the week of June 12th. Games start June 24th and last through August 12th. Games are on Saturdays and practices are one evening a week. Practice day and time is dependent on the volunteer coach.

Welcome Gail Kenney, to the Y Pickleball Team!
Gail will be helping with our Pickleball 101 adult classes and spearheading our Summer Jr. Pickleball Program at Rollingwood.
Gail has been playing pickleball since 2017 after having seen a tv news segment about it. It immediately became her passion and for the first two years she was a daily player. Each month, the Sacramento Central YMCA nominates a staff member who has gone above and beyond in their dedication to the Y. June's Employee of the month is Garrett!
Garrett works in the sports department as a referee at the YMCA. He has shown patience, strength, dedication, and sportsmanship within our youth sports programs. His patience and active listening shows his knowledge on how to handle situations well enough to de-escalate and compromise between teams, coaches, and staff. When officiating youth sports, he always applauds all players for the skills and ability that they show on the court/field. Outside of officiating, Garrett is dedicated to aiding the sports assistants by taking time out to line the fields, set up for morning games, and break down after games. As a student attending Sac State and trying to navigate the sports industry, he has taken time out to show an understanding of what it is like to be a great official and team player.
Great Job, Garrett!
