The Y has been America's leading swim instructor for more than 100 years, teaching safety and confidence in the water. YMCA of Superior California Aquatics Programs extend beyond basic instruction with a character development emphasis and child-centered approach. Aquatics and Swim at the Y are about more than just teaching techniques and skills, they're about building confidence and connections, developing self-esteem, and creating positive experiences and skills that will last a lifetime.
At the Y, we provide a variety of recreational and specialty aquatics programs for all ages and abilities, including parent-child lessons, private lessons, water exercise, lap and recreation swim, and CPR and lifeguard classes. Our friendly and knowledgeable aquatics staff are committed to the highest level of excellence in all of our aquatics programs.

Swim Lessons
Swim lessons at the Y create confidence and teach new skills in a fun, caring environment. Not to mention the benefits of staying active and healthy! We offer lessons for all ages and levels, including individual and group lessons.
Swim Clinics
If you are looking for growth in your swimmers' abilities in the off-season, and to have some fun along the way, check out one of our swim clinics! Clinics focus on stroke development for butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle, which is done through various drills, breaking the strokes into their parts of kick, arm stroke, breathing, and body position.
WATER EXERCISE
Water exercise classes are a fun way to use the resistance and buoyancy of the water to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. Classes combine light to moderate aerobic workout with exercises in the shallow and deep water to help increase endurance, core strength, and flexibility. Water exercise is perfect if you’re looking for a fun, low impact workout!
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION
Build a skill, save a life. The Y Lifeguard Program is a scenario-based training, and ensures that our lifeguards are the best in the business.
Our comprehensive Lifeguard Training course includes accident prevention, lifeguarding techniques, emergency systems, and rescue skills. The course will also include CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, Emergency Oxygen Administration, and First Aid.
CPR & FIRST AID
CPR course covers adult, child, and infant CPR and how and when to use an AED. You will learn the basic techniques for CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will also learn First Aid for choking.
The course meets child care licensing requirements and California Teaching Credential requirements.
BABYSITTING CERTIFICATION CLASSES
This course, for ages 11-16, teaches safe and responsible childcare, including leadership, basic childcare, and pediatric CPR/first aid. This course is taught by 2 American Red Cross Instructors, and upon completion, students will be awarded an American Red Cross Babysitting Certification.
ROLLINGWOOD ROCKETS
The Rollingwood Rockets are a recreational swim team offering high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction for children between the ages of 5 to 18 with various swimming abilities. The goal of the Rockets is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to experienced competitor.
