Healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, well-being and fitness. At the Y, it’s more than just working out. In addition to our physical fitness classes and facilities, we provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions, and offer a variety of programs that support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength. 

WELLNESS CENTER

CARDIOVASCULAR EQUIPMENT

We have a variety of cardiovascular machines including treadmills, elliptical cross-trainers, steppers, and upright and recumbent stationary bicycles. Our treadmills and elliptical cross-trainers are equipped with an individual flat screen television and mp3 hook-up, giving you the freedom to work out while enjoying your favorite show or music.

FREE WEIGHTS

Our free weight area has a variety of benches and equipment including: Power rack, chest press, incline chest press bench, decline bench, flat bench, cable crossover, lat pull down, leg press, and dumbbells in various weights.


GROUP EXERCISE

Group exercise at the Y is about having fun, making friends and getting an energetic and dynamic workout in the camaraderie of others. From Senior Fit to Yoga, at the Sacramento Area YMCA we offer a variety of group exercise classes designed to accommodate all fitness levels.

LAP SWIM/WATER EXERCISE*

We offer lap swim times through out the day, 7 days a week. Our 6 lane, 25 yard indoor pool is ideal for those seeking an alternative way to get fit.

Water exercise is a low-impact activity that takes the pressure off your bones, joints and muscles. Water offers natural resistance, which helps strengthen your muscles.
