Community Safety Classes

Do you know what to do in the event of an emergency? Taking a community safety class at Sacramento Area YMCA will teach you the skills necessary to recognize and respond to an emergency. With the gained knowledge and confidence in your skills, you may be able to help save a life.

CPR & FIRST AID

CPR course covers adult, child and infant CPR and how and when to use an AED. You will learn the basic techniques for CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will also learn First Aid for choking. Course meets child care licensing requirements and California Teaching Credential requirements.

First Aid course covers injury assessment, bleeding control, fractures, strains, sprains, burns, care for shock and other medical illnesses.

Participants will receive a two-year certification. These courses are American Health and Safety Institute Approved program. Course meets OSHA approved standards. An electronic course work manual is provided.

Please note, this is not a healthcare provider course.

Saturday, January 12th OR Saturday, February 9th
CPR: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
FIRST AID: 2:00 - 5:00 PM

• First Aid Only $45
• For Both Courses $80

In-person registration can be completed at Sacramento YMCA during normal business hours.
